Prosecutors say Uriel Chavez pressured city councillors to hand over $1,500 (£900) of their salaries to the Knights Templar. Mr Chavez denies the allegations. In February, armed vigilante groups marched into the city in an attempt to "clear" it of the cartel. Extortion The prosecutor's office said they had received a number of complaints against Mr Chavez by local councillors alleging he had taken them to a rural area. The self-defence groups celebrated the first anniversary since their foundation with a parade There, armed men claiming to belong to the Knights Templar demanded money for weapons, the councillors said. Last year, farmers tired of being extorted by cartel members joined "self-defence" groups in the western state of Michoacan. They took control of a number of towns earlier this year, promising to rid them of the influence of the Knights Templar, a criminal organisation engaged in extortion, kidnapping for ransom, and the illegal methamphetamine trade. The government originally tolerated the groups, inviting them to join a Rural Defence Corps under the command of the security forces. Few took up the offer, so on Tuesday the interior minister set the vigilantes a deadline of 10 May to register their guns and to decide whether to join the rural corps or face arrest for illegally carrying weapons. The government argues that the vigilante groups are no longer needed because the security forces have captured or killed three of the four main leaders of the Knights Templar. Adolescente ficou presa nove anos em garagem

Argentina girl kept years in garage 16 de abril de 2014 21:18 Police in Argentina say they have rescued a 15-year-old girl who had been starved, beaten and kept in a garage for nine years by her foster parents. The girl weighed only 20 kilos (44 pounds), and said she had been fed only bread and water in her captivity. Her only company had been that of a dog and a monkey, and she said she was beaten with a belt if she tried to eat the leftover food thrown to the pets. Her carers have been arrested and charged with slavery and abuse. The teenager was found in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, by one of her biological sisters, who had lost track of her. The girl, who has been hospitalised, said she had been out of the garage only twice in nine years. According to officials, her foster parents took the girl into care provisionally in 2001 after a court found that her biological parents, who had seven more children, were financially unable to look after her. At first, the two families kept in contact, but it is unclear what happened after 2005 and why her biological family reportedly lost track of the girl. ‘Sorry’ ferry captain tells of delay 19 de abril de 2014 06:12 Sewol Ferry Captain Lee Joon-seok: "I am sorry to the people of South Korea" The captain of a South Korean ferry that sank this week said he delayed giving evacuation orders because he feared passengers would "drift away". Lee Joon-seok, 69, was arrested with two crew members on Friday. Divers saw three bodies in the ship on Saturday but were not able to retrieve them. The number of missing stands at 270 with 32 now confirmed dead, after three bodies were found in the water. The official leading the rescue said it "may last one or two months." Some 174 passengers were rescued, but poor visibility and strong currents are making the search - now in its fourth day - difficult. The captain faces charges including negligence of duty and violation of maritime law after being criticised for not giving orders to evacuate soon enough. Meanwhile relatives of the victims have begun providing DNA samples to help identify bodies recovered from the wreckage. Investigations are focusing on a sharp turn the vessel took before it started listing and whether an evacuation order could have saved lives. Footage from the ship appeared to show instructions from crew members for passengers to remain onboard even as it tilted dramatically to one side. The ferry Sewol was sailing from Incheon, in the north-west, to the southern resort island of Jeju. It capsized and sank within two hours. 'Drift away' Mr Lee, who had already been questioned by police, was shown on television on Saturday after his arrest. "I am sorry to the people of South Korea for causing a disturbance and I bow my head in apology to the families of the victims," he said. "I gave instructions regarding the route, then I briefly went to the bedroom and then [the sinking] happened" he said. "The current was very strong, the temperature of the ocean water was cold, and I thought that if people left the ferry without proper judgement, if they were not wearing a life jacket, and even if they were, they would drift away and face many other difficulties." he said. He added that rescue boats had not arrived at the time of capsizing. The helmsman at the time, Cho Joon-ki, was also among those arrested. He said that the ship reacted differently to what he had expected. "There was a mistake on my behalf as well but the steering [gear of the ship] turned further than it was supposed to," he told reporters. According to documents seen by the Associated Press news agency, maritime safety officials recommended a full evacuation of the ship five minutes after a distress call was raised. But a crew member told the agency that it took the captain 30 minutes to issue the order. Relatives of the missing passengers were shown underwater footage of divers reaching the vessel Rescue workers continued to search for survivors through Friday night Search teams installed buoys to mark the position of the ship after it disappeared under the surface on Friday The grandparents of one of the missing students search the sea with binoculars Some experts believe the ship's tight turn could have dislodged heavy cargo and destabilised the vessel, while others suggest the sinking could have been caused by a collision with a rock. Messages and phone calls from those inside painted a picture of people trapped in crowded corridors, unable to escape the sharply-listing ferry. Officials say air has been pumped into the ship to aid any people trapped inside and to help refloat the vessel. Bodies spotted The South Korean coastguard said on Saturday that a civilian diver had seen three bodies through a window in the fourth floor of the ship. The diver was not able to retrieve the bodies because of floating objects and time restrictions on diving, the coastguard said. But three other bodies found in the water near the wreck were recovered, bringing the number of confirmed dead to 32. Choi Sang-hwan, deputy director of the national coastguard, said nets would be placed around the sunken ferry to prevent any bodies drifting away. Some 350 of those on board were students from Danwon High School in Ansan, a suburb of Seoul, who were on a school outing when the ferry sank. Hundreds of relatives of those on board have been camping at a gymnasium on Jindo island near the scene of the disaster. Asked how long the rescue operation was likely to continue, Shin Won-Nam, the head of the Emergency Management Centre, told reporters that it could take weeks, if not months. "We are not sure about it. But according to the experts, the rescue may last one or two months," he said, adding that "the survival possibility would be very low." Are you in the area? The avalanche struck around 06:45 local time (01:00 GMT) in an area known as the "popcorn field", just above Everest base camp at 5,800m (19,000ft). A spokesman for Nepal's tourism ministry told the BBC some missing climbers had been rescued, but more are still missing. It is thought to be the deadliest climbing tragedy on the mountain. The Sherpa guides had climbed up the slope early in the morning to fix ropes for climbers and prepare the route for mountaineers when the avalanche hit, officials are quoted as saying by the Associated Press news agency. Sherpas often prepare the route for the mountaineers to follow The identities of the dead and missing have not been officially disclosed, tourism ministry spokesman, Mohan Krishna Sapkota, told the BBC. He said a search and rescue operation was now under way and that three helicopters have been sent to the area. Several injured climbers have been brought to the base camp. Correspondents say the accident is a reminder of the risks Sherpa guides undertake in preparing the mountain for climbers. An equal number of guides ascend the slope to help foreign mountaineers, often preparing the way by fixing ropes and setting up camp. This accident comes during the peak climbing months of April and May as hundreds of climbers converged at base camp in the hope of scaling the summit. In 1996 eight climbers died during a storm and the disaster eventually formed the basis of the best-selling book Into Thin Air. More than 3,000 people have scaled Mount Everest since it was first conquered by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953, but many have died in the attempt too. Rachel Sheherazade: vítima da patrulha politicamente correta.

O Sílvio Santos preferiu cuidar do baú da sua própria felicidade marchando lado a lado com a patrulha da ideologia politicamente correta, a novilíngua do denominado socialismo do século XXI, com a qual os arautos desse terrorismo cultural promovem a lavagem cerebral coletiva de forma a fazer com que cada ser humano seja o coveiro de sua própria liberdade.

Sílvio Santos cedeu aos assassinos da liberdade ao calar a jornalista Rachel Sheherazade, proibindo-a de exercer o jornalismo em sua plenitude, ou seja, pelo fato de dizer as verdades que o resto das emissoras de televisão escamoteiam.

Sheherazade era a única apresentadora de jornal de TV que emitia suas próprias opiniões e não se submetia às regras da ideologia do pensamento politicamente correto. Isso fazia uma diferença enorme, dado ao fato de que todos os demais jornais televisivos são completamente pausterizados. Os apresentadores limitam-se a ler o teleprompter, aquele equipamento que exibe os textos a serem lidos. E, normalmente, os textos que procedem da redação já passaram pelo filtro de jornalistas a serviço do Foro de São Paulo, a organização comunista fundada por Lula e Fidel Castro em 1990 e que age de forma sincronizada em todo o continente latino-americano.

Rachel Sheherazade se transformou num ponto fora da curva da condescendência do jornalismo brasileiro aos ditames da idiotia politicamente correta. E isso não foi tolerado. 

E, notem os estimados leitores, que essa brutalidade censória levada a efeito pelo Sílvio Santos não suscitará nem mesmo uma nota oficial da Federação Nacional dos Jornalistas e seus sindicatos, o que prova uma incrível situação que é verdadeira jabuticaba, só viceja em solo brasileiro: os jornalistas e suas entidades de classe defendem a censura! Já afirmei inúmeras vezes aqui neste blog que sou jornalista há mais de 40 anos, tendo passado boa parte desse tempo em redação de jornais diários e conheço muito bem os tipos que habitam os veículos de mídia. Cerca de 99% dos jornalistas são comunistas e incompetentes congênitos, vulgares e mentirosos, como todos os comunistas. 

Durante os governos militares - e eu vivi isso de perto dentro de redações - se insurgiam contra a censura. Os veículos da grande mídia, como o Estadão, se celebrizaram por publicar receitas de bolo ou poesias na primeira página. Entretanto, esses mesmo tipos serão incapazes de escrever o que eu estou escrevendo aqui e agora. Estão neste momento festejando a censura à colega Rachel Sheherazade!

São esses semoventes a serviço do Foro de São Paulo, cujo o chefe maior é o execrável Barba, vulgo Lula, os responsáveis pelo lixo jornalístico que é apresentado pela maioria dos veículos de comunicação brasileiros.

Rachel Sheherazade era um pérola cintilante nesse lodaçal de mentiras, de notas plantadas, de pautas furadas, de matérias encomendadas e de louvaminhas ao governo do PT. Tal é o grau de aparelhamento comunista das redações da maioria esmagadora da imprensa, que quando se lê ou se vê uma notícia política impactante fica-se com um pé atrás, pois pode tratar-se de mais uma jogada do Foro de São Paulo. Pode ser apenas mais um assassinato de reputação em andamento, pode ser o embrião de dossiê fajuto em proveito político do desgoverno do PT. 

Rachel Sheherazade era, praticamente, em nível televisivo, a única voz dissonante em meio a esse turbilhão de iniquidade e estupidez decorrente da ditadura do pensamento único.

A ela rendo a minha solidariedade plena e lavro o meu mais veemente protesto pelo silêncio daqueles que deveriam, de ofício, erguer a voz em defesa da liberdade de imprensa, ou seja, todos os jornalistas. Mas isto jamais irá ocorrer. A entidade máxima dos jornalistas brasileiros, a Fenaj, bem como os sindicatos a ela filiados, estão sob o jugo de um bando de psicopatas comunistas, afirmativa que é na verdade uma redundância. Todos os comunistas são psicopatas.

O ‘controle social da mídia’ pleiteado pelos psicopatas do PT, é apenas jogo de cena. São os próprios jornalistas, em esmagadora maioria, que já praticam a censura, que chamam de 'controle social', porquanto são os principais operadores da lavagem cerebral das massas. Isto faz parte da dominação comunista de toda a América Latina levada a efeito pelo Foro de São Paulo.

O resto é história da carochinha ou devaneio dos covardes.

A polícia evacuou a meta da maratona de Boston na noite de terça-feira, forçando centenas de pessoas a deixar o local, depois de ter identificado duas mochilas abandonadas no momento em que se assinalava o primeiro aniversário do atentado bombista que vitimou três pessoas na edição de 2013 da prova.

Especialistas em explosivos analisaram o perímetro para garantir que as malas suspeitas não continham qualquer material perigoso.

Ao final da noite as autoridades anunciaram a detenção de um jovem que abandonou uma mochila junto à meta da maratona de Boston.

La mejor versión, aquella que asombraba al mundo hace no tanto, que despertaba la admiración en los escenarios más fieros y convertía el Palacio en un parque de atracciones, rescatada en el momento preciso. No la había perdido el Real Madrid del todo, pero era hasta reconocido que el listón había bajado algo por la pura fatiga de una temporada sin respiro. Ante un rival como Olympiacos no se admiten medias tintas. Fue la plenitud blanca y la excelencia de Rudy Fernández, el jugador total que guio a los blancos a la primera victoria de una serie que promete. [Estadísticas: 88-71]

La intensidad de ida y vuelta, dos grupos que son cumbre en Europa, los protagonistas de la última final condenados a la guerra. No parece que se vayan a permitir siestas el uno al otro. Así lo puso de manifiesto la primera mitad. Un inicio en modo ciclón para el Madrid, que tanto recordó a aquel primer cuarto del O2 Arena en el que ya se cantaba la novena. Una respuesta no menos contundente de Olympiacos, capitaneada al alimón por Printezis y Spanoulis. Y un arrebato final de Sergio Rodríguez, enrabietado porque con él en pista, cosa rara, había llegado la reacción helena; un triple sobre la bocina para marcharse al vestuario con ventaja (48-41) y una sonrisa acompañando al sudor.

El resultado y la lección aprendida eran las buenas noticias para el Madrid, que a la vuelta ya no dudó. Amenazó con emerger Spanoulis, pero el que estaba absolutamente en vena era Rudy Fernández, omnipresente toda la noche, demostrando que, a este nivel, no hay nadie en Europa similar. El balear volvió a romper con ocho puntos seguidos mientras se peleaba con el mundo, se encaraba con unos y otros, gesticulaba, protestaba y provocaba. Es su manera de concentrarse, de sentirse todopoderoso. Ángel y demonio.

Mientras estiraba la cuerda (66-49, min. 28), la sensación era evidente. Este señor equipo llamado Olympiacos, bicampeón de Europa, necesita la mejor versión blanca, la arrolladora de la primera mitad del curso, para superar esta eliminatoria y regresar con el desquite a la Final Four. El Madrid ya no volvió a sestear. Fue acercarse a 10 el equipo el rival, y dar otro latigazo, a base de robos y contras, de defensa asfixiante (provocó 15 pérdidas) y de ataques con corazón y talento. Rudy seguía en sus batallas, completando su obra de arte, otro partidazo cuando más vale. Ya lo hizo ante CSKA (28 puntos) hace unas semanas. Fue un curioso triple de Mejri el que colocó la sentencia cuando aún restaban cinco minutos (81-63). Ya era la hora de pensar en la cita del jueves, que no será menos agotadora ni bronca; el pique final entre Bourousis y Petway, uno de tantos, así lo augura.
